When using Alpha Tubular Motors equipped with lithium-ion batteries, please follow these safety guidelines to protect yourself, your property, and the lifespan of your product.
1. Avoid Overcharging
Disconnect the motor from the charger as soon as the green indicator light shows a full charge. Continuous overcharging can cause overheating and potentially create a fire hazard.
2. Prevent Overheating
Avoid exposing the motor to prolonged direct sunlight or high-temperature environments. Always operate within the manufacturer’s recommended conditions to maintain optimal performance.
3. Act Immediately on Irregularities
If you detect excessive heat, unusual smells, discoloration, or swelling of the motor casing, disconnect the motor immediately and discontinue use. Contact Vivid Outdoor Living or your installer for assistance.
4. Proper Storage
Store the motor in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area—away from flammable materials. Ideal storage temperature: between -4°F and 149°F (-20°C to 65°C).
5. Use Only Approved Chargers
Always use the original charger provided with your Alpha motor or an officially approved replacement. Third-party or incompatible chargers can compromise safety and void warranties.
6. Responsible Disposal
Dispose of lithium-ion batteries in accordance with local, state, or federal regulations. Do not incinerate, crush, or submerge the batteries, as this can result in explosions or toxic emissions.
7. Long-Term Maintenance
To maintain battery health, recharge the motor at least once every six months, even if not in regular use.
8. Keep Away from Children
Ensure that children do not have access to remotes, motors, or chargers. These are not toys and must be handled with care by responsible adults.
